Hi Dave,
Would it be at all possible to have the Newcastle 2001 gig on the site at some point please (if it exists as a bootleg that is)?
Many thanks!

Hi Dave!
Awesome new chat boards. I think I mentioned this a while back in an email, but I would love to see some obscure early live versions of songs. I know that Fred Astaire was originally faster, for example, as well as many other songs that were vastly different in their early live versions.
So... maybe a "live songs prototype" version of Millionaires or PTMU (or other albums). I guess this idea was inspired by the incredible Paris secret show from 91 you had up a while ago with early versions of "Seven" songs.
Anyway, that's my two cents.

Well, there is something like that already in existence that Dave had posted on the mp3 section a while back-- I've forgotten exactly how long ago it was-- called "PTMY live," which was live versions of songs from PTMY culled from various shows, some of which were from 2000, well before the album was released.

Must have missed that one. Actually... I think I only had dial-up connection at the time so downloading was all but impossible.
If there was a repost of that... there would be no complaints from me.
That's what I love about James... its rare to hear a song played live the same way from one tour to the next. Especially when they were in the proscess of writing the songs.

"PTMY Live" used to be available for download at Mort's ftp site, but unfortunately that's no longer in existence. You can get some of the songs that were on it from this site: jamestheband.no-ip.org:8080/james/unofficial.htmlThey don't have the entire compilation, but there are some of the shows from 2000 at this ftp site (I think Edinburgh and Leeds are there). You might want to check it out.

I don't have them. Had to tape the audio through my TV as my video couldn't record digital TV

Different versions of things seems to be the consensus, and I would have to agree. I've never heard Tim sing half of what oneofthethree lists for "So Swell" lyrics. That's the most blatant discrepency that pops up in my mind. This is one example of course.

I was wondering if you have Gold Mother live at Glastonbury '92 from the NME compilation cd. I've never heard that song live before. Thanks.
