Couldn't agree with anyone less, I was at the Shepherds Bush gig where the songs were first played, I didn't enjoy them that night (although the musicians were canny) and I didn't enjoy them on the album, as is the same with Falling Down...
English Beefcake and Space are amazing and the other tracks from the album are standard album tracks from James

English Beefcake and Space are amazing and the other tracks from the album are standard album tracks from James *ducks* No, I can see where you are coming from - PTMY is a good album I think, but it does lack a little bit of je ne sais quoi (francais sp?) The songs are good without ever getting to being really inspiring, although Alaskan Pipeline is still fantastic IMO and I'm not overly fond of Space. That said, for me personally, it was certainly a step up from the previous album.
