Was just thinking if we compile a top 10 of our favourite songs maybe they'll see it on here and take it into consideration when compiling the setlist. Therefore i'll post every song in alphabetical order. 16 to choose from in each poll and top 3 from each will go through to the next round. Polls will last 1 week and any new votes after that won't be counted. The first 6 parts this week and the other 6 coming up next week.

This isn't the best way of doing this helena. sorry to offend you. i once did it on another forum and it worked really well. The band even referred to the top song as 'The fans choice' when they played it at a gig. And just thought it would be a fun thing to do. what do you suggest?

It'll clog up the forum plus it's not fair to judge songs partly based on what songs they're next to alphabetically. Wait til we get to the letter 'S'- you'll see. There'll be a load of good 's' songs that don't get voted for that are a lot better than say...this current category.

I quite like this idea ~ it's also made me realise how many more James songs I have never heard

Jack, if you can come up with a better idea for doing this, please do.
If not, it stays.

Post a list of them all and then get everyone to select their top ten. Why is that a more risible idea than this arbitrary alphabetical method?

ooooooh a new section. i feel privelaged now. Jack i'll tell you what - if theres a poll that has loads of obvious top choices in i'll mix em around a bit so it's more even. And if the votings really close between a few i'll send em all though to next round. That seem fair?

Post a list of them all and then get everyone to select their top ten. Why is that a more risible idea than this arbitrary alphabetical method? cuz i was trying to get a universal top 10 not everyones individual top 10 cuz they'll all be different then.

Yes, but you can total them all up at the end using the power of maths!

Yes, but you can total them all up at the end using the power of maths! just thought this may be a more interesting way. will gradually see songs being eliminated and listed gradually narrowing down till theres just 10 left.

Only with alphabetising to act as an arbitrary and unfair obstacle to good songs that happen to start with the same letter as lots of other good songs.
Genius,
