Just want to explain why you suggest that then Dave? ;D Peter that journey reminds me of a trip I made to Portsmouth for the 1994 FA Cup Final.. At least you ended up taking your car home after that trip....

Hi Peter,
Impressed with your persistence and dedication, it's what James fans are renowned for. Fortunately this time I was able to 'tube' in. But for the tour I will be driving and I've planned for essentially 1200 miles driving (via Carlisle, Glas, New, Brum, home for a wash and brush up and then train in to Brixton twice and then the drive to Manchester)
We wouldn't do it if we didn't enjoy it. ( that's nearly 200ltrs of fuel@ approx 88p a ltr. bang goes my Carbon footprint for the next 5 years!)

bon, you've planned almost exactly the same journey as me, minus Dublin.

well we came all the way down from County Durham - Folklore, me and my missus. Huge thanks to Folklore's little brother for driving us. He sat outside in the car during the gig and kept the pesky police people from clamping his car (although he did get a written warning!). Thankfully, due to my overwhelming getting-to-gigs-on-time paranoia, we set off at 11am so the roadworks/people deciding they'd like to find out how their cars handle upside-down, didn't make us late. got to the bar at around 6.30pm and just loitered around the big door grumbling about how much the bloody drinks cost until it was time to go in (I won't mention the fact that Mr.Brown, Mr&Mrs Bon and Su pushed in infront of us... ). Got home just after 3am I think, almost ran out of petrol 10mins from home, which woke us all up a bit. Overall an amazing night. just one more thing to say: £4 an hour to park!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Unkarl, I spoke to Folklore and I know what it's like doing 'day travel' to County Durham. (I often visit up near Newton Aycliffe on business and typically do day trip from down south here)
Sorry if we pushed in front we didn't mean to be rude! It just got a bit frantic when they kept pushing us away from the door. Please accept my apple logs!
yes it was an amzing night.

No problem, I was just kidding with you anyway At least the next gigs won't be too much of a hike, I'm selling my Glasgow tickets (to pay for last weeks jaunt to London) and then it's Newcastle (which is on my doorstep) and Manchester (thankfully we're going to stay with friends for the weekend so that'll be double nice). Hopefully see you (and others) next time, and maybe I won't be too shy to say hullo
