for f*cks sake is this site fitted with a kopite alarm? That was quick! Lets put it this way my only interest in the international football is the potential for your chaps to come home lame ;D Anyway before this descends into an M62 slanging match - let me reinforce my original point by providing a link to the fixture list news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/fixtures/default.stmnone of this dross is welcome in the middle of our domestic season. Burn in hell Michel Platini you non-contact cheese eating surrender monkey...

I'm sure there was an almost identical thread to this about a year ago (when England started doing badly). My question is where you of the same opinion when England weren't quite as bad as they are now?
Being a Scotland fan you tend to be used to these things and defeats by the likes of Macedonia are no huge surprise!

I think I started last years thread too actually, you wait all summer for the season to start and 3 games in the international breaks start again - oh and I couldnt give a f*ck of England were world beaters - the same level of indifference would apply ;-) p.s. do you still get that "It's only an excuse..." show up north?

My question is where you of the same opinion when England weren't quite as bad as they are now? Being a Scotland fan you tend to be used to these things and defeats by the likes of Macedonia are no huge surprise! I don't hate England - they provide far too much of a source of amusement and hilarity to be hated. ;D As has been said last year, I don't care about England as I see it as southern team. They are completely irrelevant to me and I'm quite relieved that we only have to put up with Gerrard in the squad now, as I'm sick of the amount of times northern players/players who play for northern clubs get blamed usually for all the problems with England. For a while, it was the whole "The Utd and Liverpool players don't get on so that's why we're shit" and you only have to remember John Barnes getting booed BY HIS OWN FANS (supposedly) to realise how ridiculous it all is. The summer tournament was just an example of how good it can be to watch international football played in the right way without the usual crap spouted about England before the inevitable lucky foreigners/crap penalty miss/moment of madness (delete where appropriate). England would have been embarrassing in that tournament. But yes, I don't see why we have the international break so early. The players aren't fully fit yet and it breaks up the whole momentum that a season has at the start. Eng-er-land? No thanks.

As has been seen recently by the Olympics a winning team can provide the nation with a lift, and that's something that the national football teams should do. However, the media have blown the England team into an orbit which they simply don't exist. We don't have a national team, we have a group of good individual players, who wear the same shirt.
I could go through most of the team and question if they are really good enough to be a part of the national team. Why do we always have to have the "best" players playing for the national team? We need some team players in the team, but the press won't allow that.
Let London have it's Ingurland and the rest of the country will sit and laugh at them.

I always remember the WC94 preview show when 'Denis Law' is asked for his prediction for the WC Final. He responds with: "within 30 seconds of kick off the commentators will be talking about England". How prophetic and indeed evidence that our pampered pansies have been overhyped for years...ah well... For the uninitiated England did not qualify for WC94.. (knocked out by the might of Norway if I remember correctly). "We all hate Jimmy Hill, he's a poof, he's a poof"

That is one of the main reasons up here that there is "animosity" from Scotland towards the England team. Watching the recent Euros it was cringeworthy how many times the commentators shoe horned some vague reference to England in during a match.
A prime example was during one of Spain's earlier games that they were winning, the commentator announced that one of the reasons they were doing so well was due to the number of Premiership based players in their team. Torres was on the pitch and that was it! It's unreal and it's constant and becomes increasingly frustrating when watching games or tournaments with no English involvement.
As I always say, I don't hate the English I just despise the English media!!

Come on Scotland. I hate to disagree but I'm a big fan of international football. I haven't missed 1 single Scotland match at Hampden since France brought the World Cup over in 1999. I even went to Macedonia last weekend. And that wouldn't have happened without the international game. It's European football that I could do without. Who needs it ?.

Well for a change England played like a team and won... However, still too many players under performing, I'm sure there must be players who can do a better job than Lampard and Terry, and as for our keeping situation... We'll be getting the Scot's telling English goalkeeping jokes soon.
