OK Kids, on a sloooooowwww day back in harness, how about the iPod shuffle game?
Always good to play with your chums on long road trips and then take the mick outta one another for the contents of our iPods.
It’s simple and cheesy, which is what makes it so enjoyable.
The rules are thus: Simply grab your iPod, hit shuffle, and tell us what the first five songs are. No cheating. Be honest.
If you have Ashlee Simpson in the first five, you are obligated to confess to it. It’s the joy of anonymous public humiliation.
To get the ball rolling we have:
1. Led Zeppelin - Black Country Woman
2. Italian with Michel Thomas, disc 3, track 12
3. The Man From Delmonte - Australia Fair
4. Vladimir Ashkenazi playing Rachmaninoff's 3rd piano concerto, 2nd movement
5. Three Dog Night - Mama Told Me Not to Come
Delightfully random

No ipod, and only using my laptop (only got a fraction of my music on it) but I'll play anyway: 1. This Will Destroy You - The Mighty Rio Grand 2. Mogwai - Emergency Trap 3. This Will Destroy You - There Are Some Remedies Worse Than Disease 4. James - Bottom of The Well 5. James - Basic Brian ?!?!?! Seems iTunes is having a PostRock/Ambient kinda day (for want of better genre descriptors). I know I don't have much music on here but that's a bit weird... Just checked - I have 809 tracks, totalling 2.8 days - and it STILL gave me 2 WahWah tracks, seems they were right to call it "Genius" after all! (even though I didn't use genius mode, just shuffle) well if we're now doing 10: 6. Radiohead - Weird Fishes/Arpeggi 7. Afro Celt Sound System - All Remains 8. Mogwai - Helicon 1 9. Sharkboy - Same Mother of Pearl 10. Mazzy Star - Halah

I'll do another 'shuff' as we most casually call it in about an hour. I'm busy drinking my tea right now on my 'phased return'

(even though I didn't use genius mode, just shuffle) Similar - I have 441 tracks and it gave me 3 Live 2008 songs - so I cheated a bit and picked No. 11 as No. 10! Wonder if it gives preference to stuff you've been playing a lot?
