Hey! Cheers a lot!!! Much apprecieated!! Yes, cool, no worries about the review, if you get a chance to post one on amazon then that would be fantastic!
It's been a strange experience writing about my experiences and to be honest I've not had too much feedback about it so I've been a bit in the dark regarding what people actually think about it! Even my wife hasn't read it!!!!!
I've just supplied my printer with two new ISBN numbers as the book should be going on Kindle and other E-readers soon enough. I'm not sure if your a member of the 'Their Spirits, My Demons' facebook group? I update it failry regularly and there is a few links and articles on there inlcuding a scan of a letter I received from an MP abou the book.
I'm just over 41,000 words into my next book which I started less than a month back, projected to be in the region of 100,000 words in total, similar to my first book, very different in content but still a 'John Ormond' narrative style.
Cheers again!!
Sean, (John Ormond).

Hiya. Just in case you are at all interested, I passed a copy of my book onto the band last week in Leeds as a 'Xmas present'. Initially gave it to Andy and I spoke to him on Saturday night and he said that Dave was currently reading it. Spoke to Dave later on that evening and he confirmed that he had it in his possession. As you may or may not be aware I'm currently working on a book related to James. It's very different to the Stuart Maconie book from some years back and I'll post up some chapters at some point in the new year when it's tidied up a bit. A couple of new reviews can be found via the link. Merry Xmas!! www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/0956635504/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

I'l prob set up a seperate thread at some point the I can reveal that my new James related book is coming along nicely, I have about 63,000 words written so far and when finished it should be about 100,000 words long, maybe 110,000 words, it will just depend on a few things and how it all works out!
It's been a much more enjoyable experience writing this book to be honest, much more relaxing.!!

Hi. Okay, I'm excited and kind of relived in the fact that I've nearly finished writing the book. The word count is about 92,000 (300 pages) so far, it'll probably end up being in the region of 105,000+ (words, not pages!) Once it's finished I need to decide what to do with it next. It'll obviously need to be edited and proofed but my main concern/issue is regarding distribution and possibly getting the bands blessing in some form or other.
The working title of the book is 'Destiny Calling: Twenty Years Living With James' or something like that anyway.
As ever, I'll keep you posted. Sean

Hi. Okay. Book update...
Finishded the first draft about a week or so ago. Been a tad delayed due to ill health and being on holiday. Currently have about 110,000 words but this will no doubt increase, will be spending the next couple of months rewriting/editing etc.

Well i've read it at last. I have to say I was impressed. Although it is extremely niche, you have to know the music i would imagine to get it!
I hope things go well with it I am particularly thankful for the fact that I can see Bridewell Taxis, and Kingmaker in print (and the Lunaric magnets themselves get a mention) becsase despite seeing them many times I keep speaker to people of my age and saying remember Kingmaker or Bridewell Taxis or Cud (which you dont mention, but I will satisfy myself that Stuart Maconie mentions them in print) to be met with blank stares to the point at which I thought i's imagined them - I can't have becayse I still have the Cd's (Anyone remember Bed - by Five thirty or Epicure by Eat because i've since lost all recordings of theirs but am sure i didn't make them up).
It's quite fun to see how you reacted to certain songs especially upon hearing Stutter - I also listened to this years after it was released and found it almost impossible to listen to but with persitence found songs like Really Hard, So Many Ways, Billy's Shirts and of course Johnny Yen to be favourites (although I'd heard some of them and others that were much more pleasing such as What's the world and If things were perfect on sessions and they sounded much better than what was on that tape). The joy of tape albums was that you did have to listen through - but how many of us own a tape where you'd play the last song on side one and the first song on side two (or vice versa) over and over again and leave the rest. The amount of wasted time in my life waiting for tapes to spool through the songs I didn't like. Even with vinyl you could put the needle on the song you wanted! I also think that I have long term damage to my right shoulder from carrying around an early walkman that weighed more than a laptop whose sythetic strap could wear holes in your newly purchased 'JA' or 'cool as F*ck' or 'Come home you silly Cow T shirt' (Carter USM). That's funny I had all three t shirts, all of which have some kind of zen like connectivity it's as if someone was trying to feed me dodgy burgers - thank god I'm not the child of a Tory MP!
It's all about context - you took your lead earning your music listening apprenticeship with hip hop (I am particularly fond of the references to that although I got in through the back door (marked "coolest white black guys only") by loving the beastie boys then finding Run DMC, Disposible heroes of hiphoprisy, Jungle Brothers, PE , Boyz II men (Sorry - just seeing if you were concentrating) etc. I grew up listening to early punk, The Jam, XTC, Magazine, and having gotten into US 60s psychedelic/garage folk tinged music at roughly the same time (Doors, 13th Floor elevators, Pearls Before Swine, Velvet Underground, etc) et al so the 'weirder' James moments were like a breath of fresh air, not a fish out of water, music that I had been waiting for all eager and prepared for my generation lying unfulfilled til James weighed in and squared the circle.
PS I still rmember a friend of mine playing me "She's so high" cd single and us deciding that this band was going to be big. We then absolutely slated them as rubbish when the next single "There's no other way" came out (pop nonesense), being ashamed of embarrassing our lack of insight. Whatever happened to them? - I'm glad we decided to stake our musical reputation on Airhead being much much bigger!
Anyhoo keep me informed - fascinating, and nostalgia inducing, read.

Ah, right. Cheers. I thought that the book was currently 'locked' for reading!?!?
Anyway, the chapters that were up online have changed quite a bit regarding this and that, typos's/grammar etc and the story has expanded a fair bit too. I've nearly finished the 3rd proof. I have had some correspondence with Tim Booth over the book, he's asked me to contact the bands manager which I've done on a couple of occasions but with no reply.
I've also contacted the admin from WeareJames and even Andy Diagram but with no further contact. Oh well. So not sure what to do with it now. Once I've finished this proof I'm going to print it off and ask somebody else who hasn't gone word blind to have a read of it for me. It'll probably end up as a createspace publication through Amazon I guess.
Any suggestions/advice from people are always welcome.
