Well I'm off in about 8 hours, anyone else? I'm guessing this big special thing never materialized then? It can't be the Sunday afternoon slot as this still wasn't booked (and might not be) as of a few days ago. So don't know what else it could be. I hope it's Tim singing at Karaoke Circus with the Mystery Fax Machine Orchestra to be honest Can't believe I get to see Frank Turner and James in a row. Maybe the band will have a listen and we'll get a good support for next year's tour...

I recommend Matthew P and David Ford (David clashes with James, but you can see James many times later in the year - David Ford is simply amazing!!)

Tim also confirmed that James had wanted to perform on the Sunday at Latitude festival with special guests, but the organisers turned them down.

Yep, I'm heading there. Bought early bird tickets last year on a punt and it's turned out well! Might see you there Deano/Kay. I intend to see: Lissie Wild Beasts Richard Hawley The National (shut up Mac ) School of Seven Bells Frank Turner James The Maccabees Belle & Sebastien/The xx (try to do a bit of both) Mumford & Sons Midlake The Coral Grizzly Bear If David Ford didn't clash with Frank and James, I'd go Chris. Excited much?

Excited much? Thats a pretty damn good selection, would be annoyed about the B&S clash with the XX. Glad to see theres no nonsense about David Ford

Can't remember the order but they did: Bubbles (wrong one to open with) Ring The Bells Tomorrow Sound Out To Get You Stutter Sit Down I Wanna Go Home Sometimes Laid Think that's it. I was near the front next to Dave 'will you shut the fuck up' Brown ( ). Slow burner on the start of the set but it picked up. If any of the annoying twats in front of us come on here: you are annoying twats. Post-set, turned around to walk back to where my mate was and literally got stampeded by what appeared to be the cast of Skins and all their Tory Youth mates running to see The Maccabees. Who, as it were, aren't too bad live. Festival highlights in no particular order: Midlake Wild Beasts The National Richard Hawley Sweet Billy Pilgrim Mumford & Sons Belle and Sebastian Strange Boys First time at Latitude; it was far less 'beards and mung beans' as I thought it would be, and far more Tory Youth/Guardian-reading 30-somethings with their screaming frigging kids. One of whom was called Jemima. Lovely weather mind.

Of course, Tom Jones was a far better bet.... not!
Dickheads (Latitude)
Had a fantastic time - looked out for Dave and Lisa but saw neither of you - did you get to Tim's poetry recital at 7.30 on the Saturday in the Poetry tent?
Enjoyed Lissie, The National and Frank Turner as well - spent a lot of time at the Comedy Tent too. Hopefully going next year as well.

Nah, wasn't up for any poetry be it Tim or anyone else.
I think we were still up at the Obelisk drinking and watching The Maccabees whilst trying to avoid decapitation by diablo.
Yes, we were. Ended up seeing Crystal Castles coming on stage as we were heading to see The Horrors. Jesus, what a fucking mess that girl is. She started harping on about gang rape, which, after our cabbie gave us a 25 minute run down of his ridiculous theory on the whole matter, was the last thing I wanted to hear!
Excellent festival, will definitely go again. Very Young Tories though. We had a list of names that we were mentally crossing off as we heard them. Olivia (Olls), Georgie, Toby, Tilly and Polls (Polly) were all hits. Never considered a Jemima and sadly never heard Cressida. I bet there was one though...

Tim's pal Flea! Surely not RHCP Flea? And if so how on earth did the two of them become pals?!
