I just returned home as the work situation wasn't ideal in Halifax, the capital of my province. I've just been perusing some of the stuff I had left on a computer here, and I've come across a song with Tim's vocals that seems to be unreleased. I haven't yet acquired a copy of BATBA but I desperately hope this song is on that record because I'll be promptly ordering the disc if it is. The file is called melting.mp3 and this is my best effort at the lyrics, most of which are quite audible:
Melted away, high hopes that this was forever
Melted away, high hopes that this one would last
Came in the spring, left with a change in the weather
Waking in May
How summer lasts
Fools
We couldn't help spoiling perfection
To test how we'd feel
Fools
I knew I could make you reject me
Then hate me
Then leave me
Suffering fool
The man on the cross must have got me
Poor when I was young
Suffering sins
A foolish way to feel deeply
When will it change?
Fall, fall from a tree in the garden
So peaceful, so serene
Land, land in the chaos of freedom
Such choices, such choices
When I'm with you I want to be with another
When I'm with her I want to be on my own
When I'm alone I feel I so restless and lonely
Who was the fool who made me feel this way?
Fool
Say that this life has no meaning
No purpose without doubt
Fools
Believe that there must be a learning
A loving
A leaving
Melted away from who was making me happy
Don't feel I deserve
Making me pay for the all this love and this loving
Please return
Won't you please return?
Won't you please return?
P.S. You may be able to clarify what the song is, but no one will satisfy me as to why this remains unreleased, if in fact that is the case. I'm assuming it's "Meltdown Jingle" that's listed in the song archive, but the lyrics aren't spoken, so it may be something else. What a beautiful song though. Not typical James, but someone knows their way around the ivories.
