What do people think of "Sit Down" the song? Not what do you think about the song you've heard countless times; nor what do you think about the bane of James's existence as it allegedly labels them a one-song band to the press; but left to its own, what do you think about it? I'm sure this has been debated to death on the official board, but since I've never posted there and am curious I'm asking now.
Honestly, I think the original is one gorgeous piece of music, but terrible as a single for reasons such as its length.
The second version packs more punch, sacrificing a bit of the original intent, but none of the integrity. It drops some of the love elements and really strikes me as a song about fellowship and acceptance in the religious sense, and in a broader sense is just a brilliant song about brotherhood (sisterhood too, to be politically correct).
The 1998 version...would have been nice to have as a b-side I think.
Thoughts?
