James rox, and only U2 ;D can come close to matching their integrity and talent in the same genre. Except James' frontman isn't an insufferable tit. Thank the Lord for Sweezely. You are in GM and I's 'we effing hate Bono' gang. Welcome, friend.

Hi. Just wondering about Whats the World... I heard this song on a Smiths Bootleg. Morrissey mentioned that it was a copy but not who? Morrisey knew Tim Booth and James were more talented than he or the Smiths ever would be, so when he decided not to mention James and pretend not to remember , it was because he is jealous . Didn't he sing Boys don't Cry or Friday I'm in Love ? Weak, :(very weak. James rox, and only U2 ;D can come close to matching their integrity and talent in the same genre. I take it this is someone letting on to be Orange as he surely couldnt think that U2 are a proper band!! corporate whores!! Honest

Wow who would have thought this thread would have got this many responses and go from asking about a song to talking about U2 I am a massive morrissey/smiths fan but also a massive James fan. How can any one compare the two to be in the same genre is crazy. Morrissey's lyrics are so clever and amazing. Jame's lyrics are also great but not to the same extent. But then Jame's isn't all about lyrics is it. They are so different to many other bands. It is hard to explain why James are so special. Take Gold Mother when they played it live at Birmingham. Hardly any lyrics and yet it reached out to so many people in the audience. Is this making sense? I think to say the smiths are less talented than James has got to be crazy. The Smiths are the best band in their genre were as James are the best in theirs. They are way to different musically to even compare. Then again that is just my opinion. Would gladly retract it if any one can prove to me that James and Morrissey are close enough in genre and music to say one is better than the other!! Or did I totally miss the point that orangehouseburn was trying to say? Oh well Thanks for everyones information about the song! Oh and have bought Wah Wah, but cant listen to it till next week, I got it sent to my other address Richie

OOoh Harsh words......I only got into James as I heard him sing What's the World on the Meat is Murder tour at the tender age of 13 ....Then he clearly stated it was by James. The Smiths were tremendous in their day IMO , find Morrissey hard to bear now right enough. But as for U2............. (shakes head in disbelief)
