I went to school with Jim Glennie (all the way from claremont road in moss side to yew tree)
I saw james at one of their last gigs at brixton acadamy in london - good concert but strange atmosphere because it was like a 'greatest hits' tour Its difficult to be objective and say "I really liked them" because of the personal connection
I have not seen Jim Glennie since my school days.. he came across as someone who the education system didnt suit educationally..although I remember an English teacher (Miss McHugh?) extolling the virtues of a poem that she thought he should enter in a competition (something about snow or flowers I think - anyway the words impressed me because its still in my memory 20 years later!)
I remember that him and Paul Gilbertson got on well..shame he ended up being the "fifth beatle"...
