Anyone at that gig? James were on about 12.30, rocked the hill. Trouble was the front of the stage was mobbed with Robbie 'I'm Threatless' Williams fans, lobbing water bottles etc in a festival 'We're Unique' stylee.
Hateful! All the real fans out in the crowd. Johnny Yen still went down a storm though.
ps. it was a hot day.

1998 wasn't it after the best of? Shocking that James were so low down the bill.

It was indeed '98. I travelled from the middle of Co Down to Slane that day and arrived down in the field about 10mins before James came on. Managed to get up to the barriers but couldn't get into the pit. Most James fans were outside that area, with the Robbie Williams brigade taking up residency in the Pit. All the live-long day The band played really well, got the crowd going all the way up the hill. I agree with you, can't believe they were on so early. Only took me a year to respond to this, eh Great site btw, and congrats on the CD!
