Hey! As I've been lurking for a little while now, thougth I'd better introduce meself and all that. Haven't been a James fan for as long as most of you guys, but nevertheless I am... Listened to James 'sit down' in the early 90s and thought what a sweet song it was, what a sweet band of young lads!!! didn't think much more than that...been at festivals where they have played, but not really taken much notice (not just James). FF to 1996 when I met my husband (who is a huge fan and loves Tim Booth, and would have a sex change if Tim suggested it ) he played Stripmine to me - been hooked ever since. Never consciously seen them play live, so am really looking forward to Birmingham gig ;D(have had all the stories from him - did anyone recall some looney dancing on the speakers in Blackpool 1990???) Anyway, I haven't stopped listening to James for the last month and have songs that were not particular favourites have really grown on me, especially vervacious. Can't wait... Oooh...anyone got any fool proof excuses for not going to work (am a teacher, we're not allowed time off during term time)

Just say you're ill (and if you require a doctor's note, I hope someone in your family is a doctor and can forge you one ) Anyhow, welcome to the board, and you've been a James fan for longer than myself

I would just be seriously ill for the entire week - once you've started something, you might as well finish.....
I shall be at Birmingham too - look out for a girl in a oneofthethree t shirt going mental with a slightly embarassed husband in tow ( a reluctant James virgin!) ;D

Thankyou Goldmother... think you might have hit on something there, might as well be hung for a sheep and all that...will just go and check to see if there are anymore tickets left for Thursday gig. Umm, I'm sure my daughter is on study leave then, so she can look after our younger two children... hmmm...hubble, bubble, toil and trouble

They way I got the time off work was as follows:
Me: I need two weeks off in April. Boss: Ok.
That is the end of my story.

Hehe! The joys of being a full time at home Mum. I can't book holiday time. The job doesn't stop for another 15 years. ;D
