Hi - I am newly registered but not new to the website I check it a few times each day. Dont be concerned about the Glasgow review, you where right to do it and most people will see it that way. I nearly did give my Manchester tickets away though(!), but now I am looking even more forward to it - after the tunaround in events. Did anyone go to the L2 gig in Liverpool or Lizards point in 2000?

Thanks for the support. I have added something to put the review in context.
I went to the L2 in 99 and the Royal Court in 2000, but sadly missed Lizard Point and the tent gig in Liverpool in 2001.

Wasn't The Lizard Point Festival in 99 to coincide with the eclipse, I was going to go, but that was the week my father died

It was the Lizard festival to coincide with the solar eclipse in august '99. Typically all the equipment crashed and they had to play an acoustic spur of the moment rendition of 'sit down.'

I went to the L2 and I have to say it was one of the best James gigs I've ever been to - stupidly hot though! As for the Royal Court gig around the same time, I really loved it as they played virtually an entire set of new stuff, but I was with a few people who had only got the Best Of and they weren't as chuffed to be fair! Was gutted to miss the Summer Pops gig though as I was at a wedding in Bournemouth! Bloody inconsiderate if you ask me! I'm living in Hull now (due to work and a now ex-girlfriend ) but come back to my hometown to use my season ticket at Liverpool! Well looking forward to going to Manchester on Saturday though (and I haven't been able to say that about a visit to Manchester in a while!)

Yeah L2 was amazing - hottest gig ever. I was right at the front. They came out and the bass started with Out to Get You - shivers still run down my spine - from there on the band couldnt hear what they where playing!
The Summer Pops was great also because they played a lot from Pleased to Meet you. Always fantastic receptionat Liverpool (but then same anywhere Ive seen them). Maybe they will do Summer Pops this year?
Lucky to get backstage passes at last Manchester gig, my wife was pregnant with my son who is now 4 1/2, so Saturdays going to be special in many ways.

Great review of the gigs so far - One of the Three - is good to check the site first thing in the morningto be able to see whats been happening. What are the support bands like. Has it been the same band through the tour so far? is it just one? Will it be the same band at Manchester do you know? Thanks

Best James gig I've been to. They have got it just right this time, Tim has ditched some of the po-faced live behaviour of past years and is clearly all the more relaxed for it. I was dead centre, 8 people back and the whole place was electric. The stripped down sing a long version of She's A Star was a great ending but the best moment for me had to be Sometimes. This was one of the best nights of my life!

I've booked tomorrow off work with the plan to travel to HMV Manchester around 8am ish to try and get the wristbands, but I can see most of you are getting there extremely early in the morning. What are the chances of still being able to queue up around 8-8.30am to get a wristband? Unfortunately, I've not got tickets for the Academy gig tomorrow night [although I did enter the Amazon & XFM competitions - fingers crossed XFM will text me at some point tomorrow to say I've got tickets], so I would really like to see them at HMV. Does anybody know how many wristbands are going to be available to see James at HMV?

200 is my guess, that is what the purpose built Virgin stage holds (if memory serves me correctly).

It holds around 150 but I believe that around 125 will actually be available in the morning. The rest are for friends, family, groupies etc

Congrats OOTT on a great review of Shepherds Bush gig last night. Amazing how soon you manage to post it - brilliant.
I was standing at the back next to a chap busy scrawling notes who said he was from the Independent. Told me not to worry about the review for today's paper because he's a James fan.
But no sign of it in my copy - possibly because I live out here in the sticks (St Albans) and we usually get only the earlier editions .
So if anyone has managed to get hold of it (Dave) I'd be interested in seeing it ...
