I know a large group of you will park out in a variety of hotels on this tour. But make sure you aren't getting screwed.
VAT is applied at the point of Sale not the point of Booking. If your booking was done with 17.5% VAT a few weeks or months ago you should not be paying this rate in your bill.
It should now be 15%. I have saved a few quid already during the tour this way.
Make sure you ask as you check in as the hotels aren't making this clear. Really they should be doing it automatically but seem to have a 'profiteering' attitude to this.
(I have also contacted trading standards as the Hotel in Leeds wouldn't refund my VAT difference- bastards!!)

Well thought of Bon. The Ibis in Leeds applied the new VAT rate to my bill, meaning I forked out £53.88 not £55.00.
Every little helps!
