Well howdy one and all. Having crossed oceans of cyberspace to find my way here I feel it would only be polite to introduce myself, but I'll keep it short. Mark, m. 38, London, Strip Mine, Libra, Thai food, Sauvignon Blanc, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Clerks. That should cover it. My Jimbo related interest has been rekindled by a trip to Camden's Proud Galleries, a kindly soul that assuaged the sold out state of the live CD over Xmas, and subsequent digging out and dusting off of ancient CDs of One Man Clapping and Strip Mine to be played on repeat to the controlled ecstasy of my family. Well I suspect they're glad of the change from The Smiths. Have a great weekend' y'all. Have you bought Hey Ma yet? There is nothing wrong with the Smiths, bloody great band.

Now I feel ancient I first heard Jimbo after my pal bought Strip Mine in a record shop in ? Oldham Street on our way back from Affleck's Palace one Saturday afternoon in September 1988, just before we went off to uni. Wonder whether any of those places are still there

Affleck's Palace is still going - that's about all I can help with... I heard the Hacienda was turned into luxury flats a few years back. Sacrilege.

Yep, the Hacienda Apartments they are now, go past them every time I'm on the train - must admit they don't look too bad actually...

Afflecks is still there, but it doesn't shake a stick at the place as it was in the late 80s/early 90s. And I miss the Corn Exchange and its fab bootleg shops and other assorted dodgy establishments.
Vinyl Exchange is still on Oldham Street, as is Eastern Bloc. Not been for yonks - should get myself back down there.
Maybe, in the event of a lack of gigs, we could have a forum get-together and drinky-poos in town sometime. I miss the place.

Oooh, what a smooth talker - I might just push the boat out and have it with fizzy water..... My ex used to ask how I could drink something that's an anagram of vomit....

I drowned him in neat Vimto - the coroner is dyslexic so I got away with it cos the certificate stated he'd choked on his own vomit......
