Fess up, people
What was your first gig? Be honest, and we promise not to point and laugh. Much.
Mine (besides being dragged to see Billie Jo Spears by my mum as a surly, resentful child) was Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at Sheffield United's football ground
I'm glad I got that off my chest. I feel pounds lighter

I must confess to having had a poster of Ms James on my wall when in my callow youth. Black and white, in a state of some deshabille....

I'll get the blanket from the bedroom.... Mine was pretend rock Thunder (should have known better), when very young I was a sucker for a power ballad!

This should spark some mirth: Mine was Adam and the Ants on the Prince Charming tour, when I was eight years old. Absolutely fantastic! Never forget it, got the tickets for Christmas gig was supposed to be February but was posponed until May time, I think. I used to rush home from school and look at my ticket every night just to check it had not been lost. I think my mum quite enjoyed it as she was the one who had to take me, my dad would not have been seen dead at an Adam and the Ants gig ;D.

WetWetWet - Whitley Bay icerink with my big sister. Quick spot-o-Google looks to be 1990 (sure it was earlier than that...).
How jealous am I of Transivion Vamp...

I'm not repeating mine twice for anybody.....
Would have loved to have seen Adam and the Ants though - although he got rather poncy after he swapped the Red Indian white stripe for the red and white cheeks and new romantic get up. Apparently, the white stripe was really damaging his eyes though.
He's still going - did a gig last year and just released a DVD of it (my reminiscences led me to find an Ant forum last night). Still, it's far better than looking up Nik Kershaw online....
Damn, I wasn't going to repeat it...... ;D

Some secrets just have to be told, Spiny And I thought the Adamster had got himself banged up for going tonto in a North London pub with a shooter, or did I dream that?

In ALL of your faces!! - New Kids on the Block, May 1990 Birmingham NEC. I bought (well my mum did) some new Naf Naf (ha!) white jeans to wear to it. From what I remember it was shit cos we were too far away to properly swoon over Jordan Knight. And probably because they were shit. It was that or Brother Beyond people, please! Closely followed a month later by my first James gig, taken by a friend of the family. Not in a Channel 5 documentary 'friend of the family' way either

Given that you seem to have attended NKotB of your own free will, Lisa, it's gonna be a tough one to cap for sheer cheesiness ;D

If there was any justice in the world, it would have been Guns N Roses' headline slot in Donington 1987, aged 7. Alas, it was deemed 'unsuitable'. ChrisR2D2 probably hadnt been born

Oh gods, 10 in 1990? Now I feel old.....
Yes the Antmeister got committed for a while for going a bit loopy but he's back on the straight and narrow with a new wife and sprog, by all accounts.
I've been to some extremely shit gigs - amongst them I will confess to are Simply Red, Genesis and REM (who were ok but I got dragged along against my will)
