Sorry to monopolise the new threads here....
BUT
do any fellow Mancs remember the Identity 'Manchester, North of England' t-shirts that were simply the ratherest thing circa 1988
I still have a photo of my pal Jonny sporting said garment, somewhat the worse for wear, being 'spoken to' by a gendarme in Paris
And then, getting in on the act, the fab tape only album that was sold round the rainy city with the same name. Bop cassetes, I believe, with a tracklist like this:
A1 Man From Delmonte, The Australia Fair A2 Inspiral Carpets Joe A3 Pepplekade 14 Uptown A4 New Morning Working For The Payroll A5 Waltones, The Smile A6 Jean Go Solo In Salford The Sun Doesn't Shine A7 Penny Priest Sometimes B1 James Sky Is Falling B2 Bradford Lust Roulette B3 Railway Children, The Sunflower Room B4 Johnny Dangerously Subway Life B5 Milltown Brothers Janice Is Gone B6 Raintree County Nice Time At The Disco B7 Dub Sex Instead Of Flowers - Dubmix
Inspired stuff
I wonder what became of Pepplekade 14

it wasn't tape only - I have it on vinyl (although it may be a promo).

Well well well, Unk
I have a digital rip from the tape, but never knew it had been committed to vinyl.
As, effectively, a bunch of demos., interesting to note how many of the bands on the thing went on to release a record or two

Remember the t-shirts - and the God created Manchester ones too..... had them at Afflecks and also knock off versions at the Corn Exchange. Do you remember the Inspirals milk bottles?
Tell you the t-shirt I miss and would give my back teeth for - if you know anyone who has one and wants to sell it, let me know..... I bought a two-tone, long sleeve James shirt from Piccadilly Records - James was embroidered on rather than printed and it was the dogs bollocks. They did all diff colours, mine was burgundy and grey - but when I came to sort out all my old t-shirts last year, both it and my Alton Towers shirt had got mildew and rotted and I had to chuck them. Was gutted.

Yeah, for a while round our way (Salford/Bolton border), the milk got delivered in milk bottles printed with the Inspiral's cow. They didn't last long cos they got kept by us lot and never returned to the dairy!

Identity seems to have disappeared from Afflecks though. any chance of uploading that digitised version somewhere please bigdaddyostrich?
