Sorry to beat a dead horse, I know this collection's been around forever but I had to say what a nice effort it was. How Much Suffering has become one of my all-time favorites because of the version from this collection, and the 'scratchy guitars' on Lullaby are quite fun for me. The lyric of Doubts are part of my essential James memories, since the early work seems so masterful when in reality they should have been no more than dancing & jamming fools.
I don't think I gave Vervaceous much attention until the 2002 Farewell Concert CD, but the acoustic Vervaceous on this collection is simply one of my most prized James moments. Not every track is CD quality, but for the massive number of songs piled on then it's just an amazing work. Ya Ho!
