I think so. We're finally getting more of the "big" bands coming here on tour semi-regularly. Unfortunately, because of our exchange rate, and the fact that tobacco companies can no longer sponser public events, I get the feeling that bands don't make any money touring here, so they "pop in" when they're feeling rich and charitable. However, some, like Sting, Bryan Adams, and now Live, have returned a few times, always to fully sold out shows (and usually extensions). Not sure if you're a fan, but catching REM (at the Brixton Academy) while in London in June was really an amazing experience. They're the other band that I've always wanted to catch live, and who have never ventured my way. Still bummed about the James thing...

Hello Folks;
Ive been a James fan since the single 'Born Of Frustration'. Think that was when I was 13 years old!! Im not too sure! Im now 25 and still a huge fan. They still come on top of my list of fav bands!
Ive seen them 4 times. The best being at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool. Such a small venue but a great atmosphere! Ive also seen them at the G-mex and twice at the MEN Arena. I was there when they recorded the 'Getting Away....Live' and I must agree with our forum pal Matt, it was far too quiet. Bought the DVD and its amazing! Wish I had better seats that night!
I dont have a fav album, theres too many good ones!! I really like 'Laid', 'Wah Wah' and 'Pleased To Meet You'.
Keep listening to JAMES!! ;D

Hello.
My name is Kevin, and i am addicted to James.
I live in Hollywood, California.
I have listened to James since i was in high school and my sister's boyfriend gave her 'Seven'. I enjoyed it, but it didn't blow me away. I listened to mostly loud fast aggressive music, and James this was not. I aged many years and discovered the joys of psychedelics. Along with this came a love of music that was slow and trippy (although i maintained my love of sheer volume)... This lead me to My Bloody Valentine, Ride, early Verve, and their ilk. Hence, my re-introduction to James.
I have an uncanny knack for turning just about everyone i meet on to James, then driving them mad by playing it all the time. I like to put it on for people who have never heard them and not say anything. I just wait for them to say "What IS this?" then i say "James!" and they say "James who?" and i say "James is the band... not a guy" you know how it goes, i'm sure, or you wouldn't be on this site.
I bought a region free dvd player just so i could watch Getting Away With It. I consider that symptomatic of my problem.
I have only been blessed enough to know one other person with my James obsession, and lucky for both of us, we have lots of singles that the other does not have, so collecting b-sides has been simplified. We both worked at the same record store, so no used James rarities ever made it past us and into the hands of customers.
I have never seen James live. This makes me very sad. Sometimes i hate living in the USA. (actually, i almost always hate it, but that's another story)
okay, i'm done rambling. that's my story.

Hi people! My name is Dennis , I'm gonna be 30 in a week, and I'm from Greece. I got into James in winter of '93. The video of "Sometimes" was playing constantly on a tv station and it blew me away. What an energy, what a song. I ran to the record store and I bought Laid. A week later I found Gold Mother and Seven on special. I started collecting everything I could. The first thing i did everytime I went to a record store was to check section J (I still do it).
In 1997 I traveled to Manchester just to see them live. Pretty amazing. But it cannot be compared with what we all experienced in Athens in 2001 (no people shouting Sit Down) . Their first and last gig here. I'm very proud that Tim picked this one as his favorite in the last tour's programme questionnaire.
James in Greece are very respected. Once in a while a club does a James night or James vs Smiths night or something similar. Yes, they're considered that great.
Favorite album: Laid, cause was my first Favorite song: Five-O Favorite B side: Sky is falling
I was into many bands in my life (Smiths, Ride, Tindersticks etc) but not so intimate as with James. Now I'm getting into my jazz period, but still, James is on top of my music world.

Hi all! I'm Claire and I've been into James for a good 12+ years now. First got into them at the age of 13 when we had students living next door and I could always hear what I later found out to be Come Home coming thru the walls!! Wasn't allowed to go to the '91 tour, but got GOld Mother and the rest as they say is history!! I've since managed to collect nearly all the singles on vinyl, along with all the albums and other stuff along the way. Seen them around 6 times too. Would love to hear and get in touch with other fans out there -I know you're out there I just never seem to meet any!! Jimone

Hello! I can't believe it took me so long to find this site! My name is Julie, and I live in the Los Angeles area. In fact, I go by the name "Julie in L.A." on other James-related boards, but this one wouldn't let me. So "daisies" it is! I've been a fan of James since 1992, when I heard "Born of Frustration." They would play it constantly on the local Alternative radio station here. Too bad that station (KROQ) sucks now! Though they did play "Laid" as one of the top 300 party songs of all time a couple of weeks ago -- that was kinda cool. I've been lucky enough to see James perform live four times and to meet Tim in person once. It's a long story, so if you care, you can check out my post on the "Introduce Yourself" part of the timbooth.co.uk board. I am also a figure skater, so you can imagine how much I love that Tim filmed his video for "Down to the Sea" in an ice rink. Julie in L.A.

I'm back, but then did I really go away? Sprout, clicker to the rich, skint and infamous, kindness of heart and sound of mind save when intoxicated, lover and liver of music, friendly soul.

Hello anybody home? My name is John, I'm from the Netherlands. I'm 37 years old an James fan since I first heard 'Sit Down' from the Gold Mother album. Ever since I bought every album the made. The only two albums I don't have are Stripmine and Booth and the bad angel (just a matter of time, they are both on their way from Amazon ) James is not a well known band in Holland, so the band has - as far as I know - never given a concert in Holland. Still that makes me very sad. I have seen so many concerts over the years, but never ever seen James live I have one friend who is as much into James as I am, so at least I can talk about James and listen to their music with someone who understands the beauty of James. The board seems not too alive at the moment, but still I'm glad to be here after all those years

If you want to know more about me please feel free to click on either the mysapce link, or the last.fm link if your interested in what other music I am into! Cheers
