Honestp.s this is what i meant about nerdy ICT Tutors Hehe! The films, well, the myth will be expanded now 6ft tall scary martial arts ass kicking goldmother...... I love the chinese films in my list, Hero and House of Flying Daggers, because of the cinematography and style - all the colour and expansiveness. And because in my heart I long for magical worlds where people tiptoe across bamboo forests and dance over lakes. The Japanese samurai films, particularly The Twilight Samurai have wonderful stories at heart, about honour and finding your way through the world. The ass kicking bits are fun as well though... As for style and layout etc, thats why I love Blogger. Choose your template and away you go, no IT knowhow required.

There's something very St Etienne about your first post

Jim Glennie said it was his James favourite song. Clint Boon said it was the greatest song to come out of Manchester.
It doesn't really matter what I think. :-(

not even the best James song, though it is inspired. Johnny Yen is the best James song, I think .. and I did believe that was the greatest song of all time for quite some time. Now I believe it to be the gospel classic "I Will Follow Him" cB

Love the song, however my mood/state of mind deems which song is the best ever. Today it's the b52's Loveshack, tomorrow who knows.

I think Sometimes is definitely up there for me. I remember hearing the first play on Jo Whiley's show back in July 1993 and being struck dumb by it. Musically and lyrically it's not James' best but there's something about the song as a whole which just makes me never tire of it.

I'm kind of with Dave here, it's a very good tune and I like the climax but it doesn't go far enough for me and is a bit too subtle on record that it could have been - an almost classic song but doesn't do enough for my ears. Great song though live, one of the best in the set

I thought I had commented on this... oh well, I really do like the song, and reading about it has just made me play the song... but there are too many great songs to choose between!

If they could write another song as good as Sometimes, a successful comeback would be sorted, no questions asked.

Amazing song. Always has been, and always will be one of my particular favourites.
Not the greatest song in history though.

Getting slightly battered here!
People who vote no.... please put your favourite song down, if it's not by James. Am stuck for things to (legally) download right now.

A truly cracking tune..indeed never dull...but I'll have to agree with cBrown on Yohnny Yen being even more thrilling. It has this temporary, fragile quality about it that gives its climax such strength.
me, if you're looking for good non-james tunes: check out Coparck or Mew, if you didn't already. Any tune.
