Is it likely it'll be rescheduled or is it looking like a refund and cancel jobby?

I don't know. Given they're going to have start production rehearsals at a bigger venue at the end of the week or the weekend at the latest, I can't see there being much time, and to be honest if it's bad enough to cancel tomorrow, I'm not sure I'd risk it if they felt confident about what they'd rehearsed to date.

can't you get some sort of refund? I thought they charged a tenner or so, but you should be able to get some back

My Dad: "Can they not just get him a stool?" I think my mum and your dad must be related or something. Although, she did carry on with "...mind you, he does like to flail his arms about a bit doesnt he" ;D

i do hope it is rescheduled. I have been so unlucky with this tour, I just keep missing the dates, and when I finally have tickets for one, Tim goes and hurts himself.

He was actually in a sling for the last Hoxton gig, just he removed it after the 3rd song I think I read... not the best of ideas it seems.

I don't have the time to do it with all the admin, emails and everything else that goes with it. Plus I don't really have the web design skills to pull it off even if someone set up a content management system. It's a bit different to a fansite or even Tim's site in terms of scale. id do it and be honoured to do it but im a pissed paddy at the minute ;D no would love the opportunity shame about hoxton! but sure it will make Dublin all the better Honest

I thought they charged a tenner or so, but you should be able to get some back I've registered for a refund and it tells me to send the tickets off, so there may be hope. Was actually £70. It just doesn't seem right that I could refund a ticket on the day of travel - what's in it for the train operator? they can't re-sell it. anyone done it this late before? nevermind. it's 10 hours of travel saved ... and I get to watch Man Utd v Roma cB

I've been biting my tongue somewhat here on the basis that it's James and don't we all love them so blah blah blah and they can do no wrong... but: yes I am annoyed, because even though this was just an extra gig, it's turned out to be the one that a whole bunch of people I know were going to, so I am rather miffed.
Now, it must be said that I don't know all the details and maybe there's something else in play here, but it seems the cancellation is down to avoiding aggravating Tim's shoulder injury.
There's two problems here:
First, there's surely no way that they couldn't have known this was a possibility when the tickets went on sale, after all, they only went on sale about three days ago - it's not like this is something that's been planned months in advance and is now falling through. And had they known there was a chance this would happen, scheduling a gig for then: not a great idea.
Secondly. If you put together a gig, sell tickets to people, who then go make arrangements (ones they might not have made had there been a disclaimer on the ticket-selling page with "warning: Tim's shoulder is playing up so there's a chance this might be cancelled at short notice" - see point one), if you then go cancel that gig with less than twenty-four hours to go, you better have a damn good excuse. And frankly, unless there's something more to it, Tim's shoulder isn't one. As has been jokingly pointed out, give him a chair to sit in. Or y'know, make sure he has the same level of self-control as a ten year old and don't take off the sling. And yes, the band wouldn't then be providing us with the full on Tim-dancing stage-show we've come to admire, and maybe they feel because of this they wouldn't be able to put on the sort of performance they'd want to: fair enough. But any performance is better than none at all, and cancelling should not be something you resort to unless there is truly no other option. It's not a choice you make just because the conditions arn't quite optimal.
Of course, there's a fairly simple rebuttal to this that someone's bound to roll out: "Aww yeah, but Tim is so connected to the music and lyrics that he can't help but dance, and he can't perform vocally if he doesn't, blah, blah..." which is bulls**t. Because if Tim's shoulder is genuinely stopping him from singing, how exactly have the band managed to rehearse at all of the past few weeks?
Sorry but from the information we have, it seems that, basically, the gig has been cancelled as Tim's not willing to just stand there and sing if they won't let him dance, which is silly.
And sorry if this sounds a bit mean, whiney or angry, I almost didn't post this, as like everyone on here I like James lots and I don't like to be mean to them. But if this were absolutely any other band, I'd be saying this without hesitation, and I don't think it's fair to discriminate. Besides, if a mate f**ks up, I don't pretend that it didn't happen - I tell them that they f**ked up and explain why and we both learn from it.
Rant over. Sorry that that doesn't help improve the mood on the message board this past week, I shall endeavour to make light-hearted threads about condoms and whores in the future.

Sorry, Deano, let him play for you and the 200 or so ticketholders and aggravate it so much that they have the cancel the whole tour. Good plan. It's a warm-up gig for them to practice for the tour. I'm sure you'd have been equally narked if he'd played the gig, made it worse and the whole tour got canned. That would have been very smart.
For the record, there had initially been other warm up gigs planned before this week that were shelved for this very reason. This had been put back and back and they felt it would be OK. This was a band decision to cancel.

If resting it now means that he gets better for the tour, then so be it.
I am gutted too, but, it looks like it is for the greater good.

I feel sorry for all the people who have tickets, but I'm sure the band is dissapointed as well. I'm just hoping Tim is doing OK and will be ready for the tour (with or without dancing).
