Dave how's your defensive skills?? The rate the defenders are going down at United, you'll get a call up soon On a serious note, I'd rather not have to go to Chelsea and be in a 1 point situation. You can bet your life they'll have had a chat to the ref before the game, and Roman may be a few hundred thousand down in the bank after the game....... What is shocking is that Fergie doesn't want to throw Cathcart into the fight even though this kid is part of the future United defence. Yes, it's tight at the top, but he's fit and he's an exceptional talent, just as good as Pique and Evan's who are both out on loan. I'd be happy to see him at Right back on Tuesday, though the reports that I've heard has Neville back for that.

Can't we recall Bardsley from loan? He did well at the scum that is Rangers. Good right back. Isn't he at Villa the now? My fear is, despite Chelsea dropping points today, that Rooney is knackered and Smith just isn't scoring goals. The defence is weakened yes, but not the weakest element. God, how I wish Larsson had stayed on. We'd have won yesterday had we still got him.
Still say if Chelsea beat us at Stamford Bridge they'll win the league. However, as long as we go into the game not needing to win, I'm confident we can get something.

I don't think we'll be pulling Phil back from Villa to be honest. I think we've agreed a fee of just over £1m for him. I think it's also too late to recall other than a goalkeeper me thinks.
We've got one or two options to run with, and Vidic starts training again on Monday. So with Nev and him back soon it could just work out. However of course we've got to get through Tuesday night yet.
As stated in the other United thread over on the Off-topics board. If we win our next two games and draw at Chelsea it's ours. If we get wins in the next two we could even get beat at Chelsea and win it the following week. Our goal difference is going to count big time this year.

Well, if you think about it, we only have to win two more games. As long as one of those is vs Chelsea. However, that's easier said than done, and the result of that match really depends on pressure. If we go into it having to win, we're screwed. However, if the pressure is off, we have a decent chance. cB

BYE BYE BYE BYE BYE MAN Utd in Champs league - not anymore - FANTASTIC 'Liverpool are a small club' - hmm 2 champs league finals in 3 years ( I Think not)!!!! Keep Dream RED SCUM Liverpool vs Man Utd under Rafael Benitez / Aggregate Score : Liverpool 2 (one of them an o.g) Man Utd 7. United wins - 5. Liverpool wins - 1 (a cup game). Liverpool's last Premiership Title Challenge - 1997. Man Utd - 8 premiership wins in 13 years. 12/13 challenges. You're a cup team mate, face it. If you fluke another Champions League win, it'll be the second one in three years when you can't even fight for your own league. That is shambolic and an insult to football. Mourinho is correct - you've played only a handful of games this calendar year. Don't push it because you know the backlash you'll get if Milan (as they should) beat you in Athens. We were beaten by a very good side tonight but we're also knackered and missing 4 first choice defenders. That's what happens when you play 50-60 matches per season, fighting to win them all. Of course, Liverpool wouldn't know anything about that. cB

Tribec, hmm not exactly a gret deal of competition in the Scottish league is there? We have won more European cups than Barcelona we are joint 3rd in the list of winners.

Abba sold lots of records in the seventies and eighties too, doesn't mean a lot these days does it?
Eighteen points behind, not been within a sniff of the title for a decade. Good in cups though apparently.
Great side.

hmm not exactly a gret deal of competition in the Scottish league is there? Well lets think about that for a second. Last time Celtic played Liverpool. Who won? I think that was Celtic, mate. At Anfield! Also, Liverpool beaten in both games by Benfica in last seasons Champs League. Yet Celtic beat Benfica this year, 3-0. Man Utd beat Liverpool twice this year, yet Celtic beat Utd in the Champs League (all whilst still winning their domestic league). Would Liverpool win the Scottish League? I doubt it. You have to play 38 games to win that! You wouldn't have a chance. One thing Liverpool are good at - Penalties. Can't deny that. But tell me, if penalties weren't the deciding factor in cup matches, how many trophies would you have won since 2003? None! cB

UEFA stink - as does their policy towards racism and the action of foreign police towards English fans. Couldn't disagree with you there. Milan were thrown out of the competition earlier in the year until a few corruptive backhanded payments allowed them back in. And they've put out both my teams since. In terms of violence, its unfortunate that England's club fans have been confused for ther international fans. But of course, nothing is done to address it. cB

Ah we were beaten by a better side over the two games.
Was interesting to note though Roma got fined more than us for the trouble. Not that thirty grand makes a difference.

Or they position themselves on the English side of the fence so if there is any trouble they pile into the English fans knowing it's easier and they can justify it. They wouldn't have the balls to go into the home end, as the incident in Catania shows what would happen on a weekly basis.
