Apparantly I should support Grimsby even though I don't live anywhere near Grimsby. i've supported Liverpool since I was 5 years old and since its a free country I can support who I like, funny that people who claim to support Manchester UTD are a club not actually based in Manchester but Salford, why the fuck arent you called Salford Utd. At least Man City are a respectable team based erm in Manchester!

To me Chris you're full of excuses, we have players out as well that is why you have something called a SQUAD. In terms of 1977-1993 - I was referring to the 26 year gap between titles. We haven't won the title for 18 years, I don't know what Man U fans like 1 of the 3 are going on about, every team has lean spells - this is ours. I'd like to add that Man Utd have spent a lot more money on players than Liverpool certainly since 1996, these days it's crucial if you're going to get anywhere sadly. Man Utd record signing 30m Liverpool record signing - 14m Lol Ronaldo winning legitimate penalties - even Mourniho is right about that, plus Chelsea had to play 14 times after Man Utd - plus Man Utd had an easy start to the season allowing momentum to be built up. Again a weak link to success. Just because United can spend money on players doesn't mean we have any right to win things. We held the British record for the record signing from 1981 through till about 1990, and yet we didn't win anything other than a couple of FA cups. Take a look at both United and Liverpool this week. Out of the two squads for the two games, which team had more home grown players of the two? Taking injuries into account, which team has more home grown players in there team on average each week? I wouldn't mind, but you've won the FA Youth cup for the past two years (including beating United this year on Penalties). Can't see any of those players breaking through into the Liverpool side, yet at United you'll probably see 2 or 3 making a break through in a couple of years.

Utter pish. All of it. You tell me of a time in your season, or any season, when you've had 6 of your first choice defenders unavailable all at the same time? Here's our injury list until recently : Evra, Neville, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Vidic, O'Shea (which we have just about managed to cover for, hence the fact that we're still top of the league). The point is, had we had Ferdinand and Neville available to us, we wouldn't have shipped 5 goals to Milan and probably would have progressed. If you had Hyypia, Agger, Carragher, Riise, Finnan and Aurelio out, all roughly at the same time, how well do you think you'd have faired? We make record signings but we also bring through young, homegrown players and pride ourselves on it. You're a team of spainards, mate. You have five, count them, five, first team, key squad players who are English. Three from in or around Liverpool. United have ten! Six from in or around Manchester. Maybe Liverpool don't have quality young players, but hang on, didn't you just win the FA Youth Cup for the second year in a row?Yep (also on penalties). So why aren't they getting a chance? The money we have spent is money we've earned. You spend money blindly without even giving a chance to your youth players. An easy start to the season? Don't make me laugh as if that's really relevant. But if you really think it is - Chelsea's opening ten league fixtures included games against Man City, Middlesbrough, Charlton, Fulham, Reading, Aston Villa and Sheffield United. Quite tough eh... cB

So, Tom, what's wrong with spending money on players that's been generated by the club? Year after year, we turn in an operating profit while Liverpool make a loss, despite us spending such huge sums on players. We can afford to do it because we make the money to sustain it.
Anyway, bring on some genuine scousers to have this debate with. Plastic little kids who grew up supporting them because they were winning everything at the time shouldn't be allowed in football debates. Goodbye Tom.

It only isn't now because of geographical reorganisation of political boundaries. Up to the seventies, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Salford, Stockport were all part of Greater Manchester. When you actually have something factual to add rather than ancient trivia that has no real base in fact and history, come back.
